Gosh! Today's the last day of year 2009!! To be exact, 22 hours left! 22 hours later, we will be receiving 2010, a brand new year. A great year ahead to all!!

Here's my dinner on the last day of 2009 ;)

Lychee Mint Crush ($3.50)
There's many lychee bits which makes it tiresome sucking them through the straw.

Vegetable karaage burger.
Specially battered fritter with assorted vegetables. Handmade aioli (garlic + oil), drizzled with basil pesto on a bed of coral lettuce, tomato on a toasted caramelized onion bun.

Combo prawn burger.
6 jumbo louisiana style marinated tiger prawns, handcooked creole sauce, julienned granny privi apple, red roasted peanuts, tobiko on a bed of coral lettuce. Tomato on a toasted rustic bun.

Chilled tomato stuffed with coleslaw.
Delicious tangy and crunchy coleslaw stuffed into a poached, skinned tomato, drizzled rich carrot puree.

Pesto (A sauce of crushed basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, parmesan cheese, and olive oil.) atop the deep fried vegetables. Yummy!

30.12.2009 My fetish for gold watches.

3 identical watches I owned. I bought the second piece for safekeeping, shortly after getting the first one as I love its color and the small face.

This is my work-watch I have worn several years. I broke it at work a month ago :( The strap couldn't be fixed and I was close to replacing the strap. But I have no luck. And I was told replacement strap costs $25!

Hence, I bought a new piece when I dropped by Bras Basah on Monday and paid $38, after bargaining with the shop owner, as the price has gone up due to inflation.

My first two pieces were not assembled in China.

The new piece is..

Another gold watch.

I love cookies!!! ^^ This Christmas, I am truly fortunate to receive strawberry and cream shortbread, flown in from Scotland!! (A city I missed, as I have not set foot on since my last visit, at least 13 years back :( ) Big thanks to SW!

Look, how lovely it looks! I cannot wait to sink my teeth on it, but on the other hand, I cannot bear finishing the 10 pieces. I hope it is available in supermarkets in London, so I have the chance to taste it again. (Because I have special shoppers in London. Ha! You know who you are, my friends who visit London on regular basis.)

Sorry! No sharing, this time!! ;)

I feel sorry for people who has allergy to nuts..

I am here to pick up the whimsical berry log cake.

It's raining this morning when I make my way to Ann Siang Road.

I have my lunch at Maxwell Market in the vicinity.

I ask for chicken breast. Hmm.. it tastes very good.

Whimsical Berry log cake.
Crunchy pearl balls, layers of divine chocolate fudge and velvety chocolate mousse on a moist and dainty chocolate sponge, ensconced in sensational strawberry mousse and finished with a silky smooth coating of dark chocolate.

This is our dessert tonight at Sherin's house ;)
