Niagara Falls, New York

As our boat cruises to the base of the American Falls, then to the basin of the commanding Horseshoe Fall, my heart's racing, as I experience the absolute exhilaration of confronting millions of gallons of water crashing like thunder into the rocks nearby.

Beautiful hues of sunset sky.

slim metalic havaianas

Yeah! I finally owned a pair of slim metalic havaianas thong at a buy-3-get-1-free deal. I wanted to own a pair, since last Dec when I saw a tourmate wearing it. Upon returning home, I went to the store, intending to get one. But changed my mind as I find it horrendously overpriced & I happily settled for one similiar pair from Old Navy, which costed me USD5 ;)

Adorable Vera

Time flies! Baby Vera has turned 15months. The last time I shot her, she was newly borned. She looks soooooo girly. Haha. Vera has big round eyes, like those of her daddy's. She is full of expressions and it's kinda interesting to watch her. May she grow up to be a fine young lady. Happy growing-up!

How many alarm wake u?

I was nearly late for work twice this year!! "O This is because my handphone alarm decided to take a break. Oh my.. not when I need to report for work! Fyi, my company does not condone any act of tardiness & it's a deadly crime to be late for work!! If u do, you will leave a black mark in your record & it takes 3 years to clear that. To prevent this from recurring, I got myself an alarm clock. Gosh! When was the last time I owned one? And where is my old alarm clock? I was trying to recall... hmm.. think I abandoned it when I started switching to the hp alarm. Oh ya, back to my eventful episode, I was relieved I got to work in time. Hope no more "next-time"!! What a horrifying experience!

J Co donut

Rayan loves donut! We brought him for some yesterday since auntie Jayme wants to have some snacks before dinner. He was thrilled when 2 plates of donuts were placed right infront of him and couldn't wait to taste them all, but mommy allowed him to have the strawberry one only.

06.08.2008 A beautiful day!

Feeling fully recharged, I go out for a stroll today, in the beautiful weather. The Cathedral Square is a stone's throw away from the hotel. From there, I head to the Christchurch Art Gallery which is located in the heart of the scenic Cultural Precinct, just a few mins' walk from Cathedral Square. At the end of Worcester Blvd, lies the huge Botanic Gardens. Before I start hunting for lunch, I took some pictures at the Bridge of Remembrance near the city mall. Standing on the bridge, I admire the river beneath, it's so picturesque. The sunlight creates reflection on the river against the blue sky. Its beauty is beyond words to describe. U have to see it! Here it is!

I love gold Kiwifruit (Hinabelle)

Bought some gold kiwi, one of my favourite fruits, from Christchurch. I simply love the sweetness of it! Unlike its counterparts, the green kiwi “P which is more acidic & bites our tongues. Gold Kiwifruit have a smooth, bronze skin, a pointed cap at one end and distinctive golden yellow flesh with a less tart and more tropical flavour than green kiwifruit. It costs slightly more than green kiwifruit. It is less hairy than the green ones, so can be eaten whole after rubbing off the thin, fluffy coat. But I still prefer not to eat the skin altho’ it’s a good source of antioxidants. Was told eating 3 daily for 28days will thin blood n reduce blood clog. So, start eating today!

Here’s the history of kiwifruit :

Actinidia deliciosa is native to southern China, where it is declared as the “National Fruit” of the People’s Republic of China.[3] Other species of Actinidia are also found in India and range east to Japan and north into southeastern Siberia. Cultivation spread from China in the early 20th century, when seeds were introduced to New Zealand by Mary Isabel Fraser, the principal of Wanganui Girls’ College, who had been visiting mission schools in Yichang, China.[4] The seeds were planted in 1906 by a Wanganui nurseryman, Alexander Allison, with the vines first fruiting in 1910.
The familiar cultivar Actinidia deliciosa ‘Hayward’ was developed by Hayward Wright in Avondale, New Zealand around 1924. It was initially grown in domestic gardens, but commercial planting began in the 1940s. Italy is now the leading producer of kiwifruit in the world, followed by China, New Zealand, Chile, France, Greece, Japan and the United States. In China, kiwifruit was traditionally collected from the wild, but until recently China was not a major producing country.[5] In China, it is grown mainly in the mountainous area upstream of the Yangtze River. It is also grown in other areas of China, including Sichuan.[6]

Have always thought Kiwi is from New Zealand, not until I read an article in ST some time back, n realized it’s originated from Shanxi, China!

My NZ shillings

I didn’t realise the New Zealand coins in my possession were no longer in use until I was told, when making payment at the supermarket in Christchurch. New coins were introduced 2 years ago! Gosh! I haven’t been to NZ for at least 5 years… Actually, I can’t wait to get rid of the big heavy coins in my wrislet but looks like I have to keep them as ‘momento’. (Never like to carry too many coins “P)

an unforgetable wedding

WHO IS SHE CALLING?

I always experience jetlag, once a month to be exact, ie after every trip from USA. The worst experience happened in May! I suffered from serious sleep disorder whereby I get 3-4hrs of sleep per day, no matter how zombied-out I am. Cant stand how ghastly I looked, I bet I was the ugliest woman on earth!! I was literally a walking zombie then.

On 30th May, it was Vernicia's wedding and I had to shoot her wedding day. But I didn't had a wink the entire night! Thus during the break, after the ceremony in the morning, I tried to get some rest but to no avail. Waste no time.. I instantly popped a sleeping pill I took from the doctor on my recent visit & I went into slumber effortlessly. To my horror, a phone call came at 8.30pm! The wedding dinner has commenced!! :S

So now, you have the answer to the question ;)

New clothes for my dolly

This is my very first time shopping online!! The overall experience was fun & filled with anticipation. Purchased clothes for my doll @ www.sugarmagdoll.com, from Sugar Mag Dolly World (Hong Kong). Got a little carried away & ended up getting 11 items altogether which cost USD118. I am glad few friends chipped in as pressies for my Birthday. Thank you Lydia, Joanne & Diana for the lovely gifts! They know that I am feeling down of late, thus wanna cheer me up by paying all the clothes for me. That's a very thoughtful gesture from them :)

I hope I have exciting destinations in my work schedule so that I could bring my doll, cladding in these pretty clothes, for shoot.

Are you a careerist?

I considered myself not one who is ultra career-minded. Nevertheless, I feel certain level of personal advancements is needed for everyone. Who wants to keep running on the same spot? That’s not very healthy for personal growth, for sure. I have been working in the same company doing the same job for a decade and I have entered comfort zone. I still love my job. I like the erratic working hours & enjoy the little perks here & there. Yearn to see changes soon..

Ladies & gentlemen, please meet my new toy!

Welcome to my lens family, Lensbaby! Frankly speaking, prior to bringing her home, I only know this strange lens creates an adjustable blurry sort of look around the edges with a clear centre, from a wedding photography book. The effect is very similiar to the blurry, vignette edges seen in images shot with the old Holga or Diana film toy cameras. Hence, I am pretty keen to own one, since I have always loved Holga cam effect. I am sooooo anxious to use this to shoot wedding! Can’t wait to see the romantic dreamy images…
