15.8.2009 Happy Belated Birthdays!

The purpose of the meetup today is to celebrate two August birthday girls' birthday (Vicky and Jazz Nova). I suggest we have high tea at Raffles Hotel. To our disappointment, the variety of food is extremely pathetic! They serve porridge, carrot cake, siew mai, fried noodles, poh piah and a small selection of desserts plus cut fruits! And none of them seem to impress us!

The restaurant draws holiday-makers crowd, most of the diners are foreigners and I guess we are the only locals! The food fair are catered to Ang Mos and Japenese visitors. "O I am hoping to take decaffinated earl grey tea, with the pastries but I am told they only have camomile tea. This five star hotel doesn't serve decaffinated tea other than camomile??!! I really find it hard to believe. I feel it's not acceptable when I pay $48+++ to dine here!

English scone is the only item I enjoy. They serve us from a basket and it's still warm when it arrives.

Our high tea is such a big disappointment. Dear friends of mine, please don't be conned by the appearancae of the dining place! I am the sucker end of the day. Keke.

We leave the hotel with half-filled & unsatisfied stomachs. After that, we go to Raffles City Shopping Centre to shop. We have not shop together for a long time, as we normally meet up on week days, where we only have time for a long meal. Our last stop is Prints and the two mommies buy albums for their precious one at home!
