26.7.2009 First day in New York City

I rise at 4.30am today and manage to get more rest, a few hours later. Mavis and I go grab lunch at Home of Good Burger on Lexington Avenue. I have cheeseburger with onion rings and unsweetened ice tea, which cost me USD13.50. Ice tea found here are mostly sugar-free, although I would prefer a sweetened one ;)

After lunch, we take a train to SOHO (South of Houston Street) and spend the whole afternoon shopping there. It's my second time to SOHO and I prefer the overall shopping experience. Formerly an artists' colony in a run-down part of town, SOHO is now a prime shopping destination, especially on the weekends, when the sidewalks of West Broadway, Prince Street, and Broadway become almost impassible.

We take a break right in front of a mobile ice cream van, savoring ice cream. It's nice to watch the crowd passing by.

After which, we head to Korean town, which is filled with countless Korean restaurants, for dinner. The restaurant is packed to the brim when we arrive during dinnertime. Before our food arrives, we are served a round of cold appetizers. The tofu soup I have is authentic! It tastes exactly like those I have tasted in Seoul! We are over-stuffed and decide to walk back to the hotel which takes us 30minutes. By the time we get back to the hotel, we are bushed. Ha. I go to bed shortly after a hot shower.
