6.2.2011 Day One

After resting for six hours, I am up in the middle of the night.

Look! I am hooked to the game!

Arrrrgghh!! I would score triple if I can form spinach this time! Luck is not on my side!

This is my very first I pod and I bring it along with me this trip. The feeling is great listening to music which accompanied me when I was younger. Plenty of memories resurface right now.

I wake at 12 noon today. Glad I snooze five hours after waking in the middle of the night. I am stuck in bed playing game and eventually get my ass out of the bed at 1.30pm!

I cannot make up my mind to go Union Square or Korean Town for lunch. Eventually, I opt for Korean Town. I have cod fish spicy soup today, accompanied with cold side dishes which are on the house.

After lunch, I pass by Bryant Park on my way to Fifth Avenue. The park is slush-filled. So I drop by for some photos.

Arrrgghh!!! My phone slips out of my hand when I am snapping picture with it!!

When I was zipping my coat, whilst preparing to leave Times Square, my camera facing downwards land hard on the floor! The next second, I see shattered glasses on my lens and to my relief, the lens protector saves my lens!

Do I count myself lucky? Tsk!! Have to get a new protector for it.

Rockefeller is my last stop. Dusk has arrived by the time I step out of Anthropologie.

Arrrrggh!! I wake at six in the morning when I need to wake at eight for work! Relieved it's not busy at work today.

Sylvia's bundle of joy arrives 4-ish in the afternoon.

After a daylong work which lasts for almost 24 hours, I grab a quick bite before turning in.

When I am tucking in, an Indian man from the Mongolian food stall approaches me and ask who introduced Indian food to me? And he said he is happy I enjoy Indian food. Ha! Little did he knows I am kinda sick of the food in the food court and hence go for something different this time.

Gosh! There's blizzard in NYC again! Two flights out of Singapore were canceled due to the bad weather.

I yearn to be there now, as a friend is 'stranded' there.

The second month of the year has arrived, unknowingly. I can only say time passes by too quickly!

As usual, my body clock is screwed up due to my erractic work schedule. I wake at 3am and start picking up the mess in my bedroom. I have sorted out and neatly arranged my mountain high of clothes which has piled up for a while, finally! Both clothes stands and my bedside table has been tidied too. I also find a sturdy box for my scrape book materials. Too bad the 12 x 12 paper do not fit into the box. Task half-completed! The cold breeze makes me too lazy to continue packing my writing table.

When I go to bed at two in the afternoon, it's still raining cats and dogs. Gosh! The sky has been crying for the past forty-eight hours!! NON-STOP! It takes a break, finally, when I wake at seven o'clock.

I hope there's no rain today! I need to sun my winter wear before stowing them.

Rewarding myself a good meal after work. Work's a breeze today! Very rare indeed!

Sliced fish congee with fried carrot cake.

Dessert at 许留山 right after dinner!

I am back to the room at 12 midnight. By 12.45am, I am in slumberland.

A close chase!

I beat Irishbone a great deal as Irishbone gave me many opportunities to score! Thanks Irishbone!

30.1.2011 Japan Oddity

I was watching a television program in London on oddities in Japan.

One of the segments of the one hour show is on Love Doll, also called, Sex Doll. I have seen this on a local documentary program. And I get to have more insights after watching the show in London.

The host interviewed this Japanese man in his 40s who has an amazing collection of over 100 Love Dolls in his tiny apartment. I realized he has been interviewed by many television companies, all over the world.

His fetish for Love Dolls begins when he was a teenager, that explains why he has a huge collection. He prefers having sex with dolls than woman. I seriously cannot fathom this.

Most of the dolls are buxom beauties, (buyer get to decide on the breast size) but with beautifully subtle features that are undeniably Japanese, Customize it to be just the girl you want, with a wide selection of faces and hairpieces that are all different, but fully interchangeable.

All the dolls are waterproof and will be fine in the bath with you, or simply posing by herself. It's silicone breasts feel extremely soft and realistic, as does all of her skin. It's smooth without the drag you typically feel on latex when you touch it.

Because it's 100 percent silicone, the skin is seamless in the joint areas, making her look more real! You can enhance it with under-hair, or leave it hairless if you choose to. The body hole is extremely high quality and durable, and provides amazing sensations for the buyers.

There are museums in Japan where Love Dolls are on rental. Customers get to pick the wig, face, breast size & clothes.

After resting 11 hours, I get out of bed to get lunch. When I look out of the room, I am greeted by grey cloudy sky again.

When I arrive Giraffe, it's already filled with lunch crowd. The menu says, we serve lunch at a happy price to make you happy. I bet all patrons left happy! They did it!

I merely have to top up 2.95 quids for a mug of hot sweet potato soup. I am contemplating between soup or dessert, as the latter is always my top pick. I pick something hot as it's real freezing outside.

This is my set lunch which costs 6.95 quids, which comes with a fizzy drink. Such an economical set lunch, isn't it?

I slept from 9pm-7am, after dinner and shopping. It's 3pm back home when I wake. Glad I manage to snooze a couple of hours, an hour later. By 12 noon, I am up and out. My first stop is Piccadilly Circus. I hop onto a bus right across the hotel. Love the convenience!!

I recollect spending Lunar New Year many years back with Lynn, Rachael and Elsie, when I see the lobster bee hoon poster on the wall, when having lunch in the restaurant I frequent.

Woosh! I am hopping from River Island to Topshop, not missing any of my favorite stores on Oxford Street! And making Primark, located at the far end, my last stop. It's filled with people and I lose interest in browsing as I do not wish to spend too much time waiting in the line to make payment. Furthermore, I do not have faith in the quality of the goods. My brand new tights tore on my first wear. Poor quality, yah? In 10 minutes, I am out and decide to get back to Holland Park to get dinner.

Green chicken curry.

Stir-fry aubergine with chilli.

I am so happy with my dinner although it's a little pricey, as I spend 16.15 pounds for it.

This is my first purchase. It's Zara long top. It was 19 pounds and now, 9.99 pounds. I love it's color.

This French Connection coat was priced at 180 pounds (original price) then 90 pounds and when I bring it to cashier, to my delight, I am told it's 45 pounds!! What a steal! A great sense of satisfaction surges me! Haha! Fancy finding such a pretty coat at 45 pounds! Ain't I lucky, as there's only two pieces of size 6 left on the rack.

Yes! It's only S$91.35, under $100!

A new top from River Island :)

My weak heart sank yesterday when I stepped into Swarovski to see the ring I bought last month has been slashed to 44 pounds, after a 60% discount!! I paid 110 pounds for it! Hence, I pick something from the sales corner to appease myself. This ring is going at 60% discount off the full price too!

Cannot wait to dive into the bed, as I have been up since two am, this morning! Before I do that, I have to fill my rumbling stomach.

Dinner in the posh food court in the mall. Look! Am given a glass for my fizzy drink.

I love shopping for food stuffs overseas, as I get to sweep all my favorites home!

I have barely 48 hours this trip. Hence, I have to fully utilize my time! After work, I make a trip to the nearby mall for dinner and shopping. Although I didn't find anything which catches my eyes, but I return with a bagful of food stuffs from Marks & Spencer.

Each costs less than S$2!!

Am dead exhausted!! Going to snooze soon!
